Makala has more than 15 years’ experience in corporate strategy, marketing communications and corporate affairs, having held a range of roles for leading companies in the property and finance sectors, including one of Australia’s major investment banks. As a senior executive Makala has overseen strategy, marketing and corporate affairs for an ASX-200 company, led innovation and digital transformation and developed strategic frameworks for operational growth and industry-leading sustainability initiatives. Makala works creatively and analytically to develop concepts with commercial application. She is a growth strategist and brand champion, bringing her positive and pragmatic approach to projects for customer-centric and for-purpose businesses, most recently in the health and social impact space. An experienced non-executive director, Makala is a Fellow of the Governance Institute of Australia and has spent more than a decade in board and committee roles in the not-for-profit sector. She holds Graduate Diplomas in Consumer Engagement and Arts, and a Bachelor of Business (Marketing/E-Business).
